I finally got to cleaning this skillet I purchased a few weeks ago. It's got four notches on the heat ring, and a number 8. I've found very little info on it other than its possibly japanese.
Could be Asian, but not for certain. Obviously copying the Lodge notches and font, but not the handle. Nothing like MOH, however. The heat ring on those is very thin and flat, and the iron is weird, almost like pot metal.
I just came across this old post. it's funny because I have one of those four notch skillets. I know for a fact mine is not Japanese, it was my great, great grandmamma pan. she died in 1939 I always wondered why it had 4 notches instead of three. has anyone else heard of this before? I can post a photo tomorrow.
