1800s skillet?

New to cast iron cookware collecting. Got this today for $15.00. Any ideas on age, company (If there is one), what I should do with it, etc?

Impossible to say for sure, but the handle design indicates it from 1860 - 1880.

I'd love to have such a piece and you got it for a great price!

What to do with it? Restore it and cook on it!
.. and don't use any restoration method that will negatively impact the metal (i.e. no wire wheel or machine equipment).

Yeah, use the old bird, lol.....Its really old, thats all I know. That lowered handle is kinda new to me.........
