Hi, I'm asking for help from anyone who may know something about a particular skillet I have that I suspect may be one of the first in an enameled line.
Here's what I know so far...it's made by T & C Clark which later became T & C Clark & Co and I suspect it's mfg date between 1839-1860 due to the clumsy gate mark and the stamp of the early name. Also, the font is scrolling and not a normal mass production stamp font. Now having said all that, I may be completely wrong lol. There is more info about the foundry out there, which lasted over 100 yrs, than is the actual products they made...and that's still pretty limited.
The top edges of the skillet measure 16 3/4 x 15 and the handle measures 19 1/2. The stamp reads ' T & C Clark's, 14 In, No 9, Patent Enamelled'.
I apologize for the quality of my pictures, any help is greatly appreciated.
