Cast iron wheat identification

I am new to collecting. I picked up this beauty and have been trying to identify it. I cannot find a marker’s mark on it. I’ve seen pictures of Griswold ones but not any that have 8 slots.

Is it aluminum or iron? A photo of the bottom might also be helpful.

It is iron as it is pretty heavy.

The copier would have to be pretty talented create a pattern from a 6-cup Griswold to make an 8-cup, and in iron. Most copies of a pan this intricate and detailed are aluminum, a metal far easier to work with. Weight aside, does a magnet stick to it?

No magnets do not stick to it.

Aluminum, then. Don't clean with lye or oven cleaner spray.

Griswold made their 6-cup in aluminum as well as iron, but theirs are fully marked. Someone probably used one, iron or aluminum, to make the pattern for yours.

Thanks for the advice on cleaning and identifying it as aluminum. I paid less than $5 so I don’t bad i misidentified it
