I am new to collecting. I picked up this beauty and have been trying to identify it. I cannot find a marker’s mark on it. I’ve seen pictures of Griswold ones but not any that have 8 slots.
The copier would have to be pretty talented create a pattern from a 6-cup Griswold to make an 8-cup, and in iron. Most copies of a pan this intricate and detailed are aluminum, a metal far easier to work with. Weight aside, does a magnet stick to it?
Aluminum, then. Don't clean with lye or oven cleaner spray.
Griswold made their 6-cup in aluminum as well as iron, but theirs are fully marked. Someone probably used one, iron or aluminum, to make the pattern for yours.
