I bought it a couple of months ago at an auction... I thought it might be a real griswold... but I wasn't sure... it resembled the ones I've seen pictures of and the wire shelves are kind of unique...but I wasn't sure if anyone else ever did anything like that or not... and it was missing the kind of important plates across the top with the griswold emblem on them. the first set of pictures was actually after an initial round of cleaning and paint stripping... I was kind of excited to see the red paint at the bottom layer under all the other colors so I took some pics... but it was much worse before that. I dismantled almost everything... and either stripped the paint or soaked in evaporust or both.. one after the other. the second pic link shows the little cast iron brackets that hold the wire shelves in place... with their griswold pattern numbers. It was missing two levels of wire brackets but thankfully all of the little cast iron brackets were there... so after some trial and error I was able to recreate the missing wire shelves... I ended up painting almost everything... since it would be either bare steel or bare cast iron... rusting was an issue.. I still have all of the original bolts and square nuts... but didn't use any of them except one square nut... I replaced all the rest with new stainless steel bolts and square nuts. If anyone has the brackets for the top and would like to send them to me... I'll gladly take them and really 'restore' this baby to its former glory. I wanted to make all the wire brackets chrome plated and if I had the top plates, I think they were often chrome or nickel plated... so it would look really sharp in the store.. .but given the condition of the wire brackets that I did have I just painted them all black.
