One more puzzler for my cast iron friends...any help in identifying this would be welcome with thanks in advance....It is gate marked underneath...

Me either --but I know there are a lot of experienced eyeballs in this forum.

I know its old since there is a big gate mark underneath. I will chalk it up to one of those "unique" foundries from the past that tried but never quite made it... Thanks for looking!!

I've seen similar spouts in the gallery on the facebook group for 'the iron works! collectors of early iron!'.. . scott can be a little difficult sometimes but the group does have some good info on bottom gated and 'fancy handle' skillets and other early pieces.
