This antique store has had these Gem pans in for some time. Made him an offer that was 25% off and he took it. From, what I could find out on this pan the maker is unknown. Probably made in the mid 1800's. It is a waterman design 11 cup pan and has the signs of the bottom gate marks and where they have been ground down and off. Has the raised number 8 on the bottom of one handle. Casting is somewhat rough but not bad either. Inside of the cups are all uniform in smoothness. There was a piece missing at the top edge of the one outside cup, bottom row 2nd from the left. This has been repaired but is still visible.
The second pan is a 12 cupped pan. I this is a waterman #6, good casting, bottom gate marks on two of the cups faintly show. On the bottom of one handle is the words "WATERMAN Co.". On the bottom of the other handle is a word but not enough letters for WATERMAN. Have to hold a flashlight just right over the letter to even show they are there. Otherwise, it is just raised bumps. Under that is the words APRIL and 1??? but is not legible. Large word may be PATENED.
