seasoning and trying to get it non stick

Hello,

I brought this Andes Double Sided Cast Iron Griddle Plate with Handles, Ribbed Grill Pan/BBQ Skillet to use on my stove top. Andes cast iron double sided griddle plate. Washed it, and started seasoning it with grapeseed oil. Put it on my cooker with both front burner on max for an hour. Let it cool down and repeated this 3 times.

The reason I done this on top of my cooker as it won't fit in the oven. Tried cooking bacon on it which stuck a bit, then tried an egg, again stuck a bit.
The plate is not fully non stick. Do I need to keep repeating the seasoning the same way or what do I need to do to get this non stick please?

I am limited as it won't fit in my oven.

Hello Jason.

Generally, more layers of manual seasoning aren't going to do the job as well as continuing to cook with it. Then proper maintenance will eventually get you there. Newer and rougher iron like that can take a long time but it can turn into a decent pan.

I have to agree with CraigA but getting an initial few coats of seasoning can't hurt.

I season my CI in my gas grill. Early on, I found that max heat was burning off my attempts to season so I cut the temperature down to about 500ºF and met with better success.
