If a web search for the answer to your cast iron cookware question has brought you directly to this forum, the information you seek may be covered in one of the many reference topics featured on the main website.
I was wondering if anyone is able to help me date this Griswold cast aluminum #808 gem pan? 8 cups, 4-4 and no bars. It has the slant logo. I plan on cleaning it up, but would love to know more about it.
The "slant logo" TM would likely place it ca. 1905-1930. Aluminum restoration precludes the use of lye and electrolysis, both of which will dissolve aluminum.
Those gempans were selling for good money at the auction here last week. Your would have sold in the $25-$30 range. Larger went for more. Bigger cups were the ones they wanted.
