Hello - I'm new here, but not new to cast iron. I fell in love with my first dutch oven, and now have over 30 pieces!
I am trying to assess the approximate value of my estate, and have several pieces of cast iron that I can not find anything like them online. First of all is this griddle.
Notable features are: the handle hole is rounded, not pointed, The handle is rounded and smooth - no creases or edges in the design. The edges of the griddle are flared, not straight, the number 9 is on the handle, not the bottom, The bottom has only the works 10 1/4 INCH GRIDDLE and far below that is an upside down letter V.
I would appreciate any help you can give me in identifying this piece! Thank you so much!

Edit: I just found something promising: It looks just like this wagner one listed on EBAY but I dont' trust E-bay to get the details right, and I'm wondering what someone can tell me about my 'V" and the ebay sellers 'X" on the bottom. What does that mean?

The V (more likely a misformed A) and the X are pattern identifiers. The griddle was made by Wagner after the company that owned it at the time had also acquired Griswold. The pattern used was a re-purposed Griswold. The piece could have been sold labeled either Wagner or Griswold. The lack of a "Made In USA" inscription places it early 1960s.

Thank you SO MUCH! That explains why it had so many similarities to the Griswold ones - but wasn't quite it.
