Very nice! What era would a sprue mark indicate?

The info i know says sprue marks ended in the mid 1700s when they moved to bottom gate marks. So this skillet is close to 300 years old

Interesting! I see this waffle iron every time I go into an antique mall near my house. It's been there for months. If it's 300 years old, maybe it really is worth the $95 he's asking for it. Ha!

The marks on your chicken fryer and lid do not appear to be sprue marks to me and I don't believe they were making hammered cast iron 300 years ago, but if I'm wrong it wouldn't be the first time.

On the hammered piece, that's just a casting anomaly. That "unmarked ugly hammered" stuff is considered to be just someone's attempt to cash in on the popularity of hammered CI late 30s or 1940s.
