1890's Griswold Wafer Iron

very interesting piece I picked up at the auction today.

like a krumkake or pizzelle iron... very ornate design... if anyone just happens to have a button hinge base for this thing just laying around, send me a message. (ha ha ha)... I'm guessing it will be kind of difficult to find the correct base for this... like a very small waffle iron base... with the early button hinge.

Interestingly , the 1880 patent is a Selden and Griswold patent.

Nice wafer iron. I have a Wagner Pat. July 26, 1892 wafer iron that looks very similar, if not the same, to this ones interior design. I have yet to use mine, but it cleaned up nicely minus the nickel finish missing in spots.

Finding a base might be difficult though, and if you find it, how much will it set you back. I lucked up and found mine in an antique store for about $30 if memory serves me right. He didn't know what he had.
