Built a e-tank a week ago and started restoring cast iron skillets and griddles. Found a 1030 size 5 skillet at an antique store for $5… Figured why not. I’ll research it to see what US co made it. I just put in in the tank and researched… it’s an Iron Mountain series by Griswold!!!! Wow!!! Makes up for another lesser Griswold (by Wagner) skillet I got ripped off buying.
Also made grilled cheese on the first piece I purchased - very rusted round griddle barn find for $20… and the first piece I restored. It was perfect!!!
So far I’ve bought puritan, Sidney O, Griswold Erie, Wapak, Martin Stove, Birmingham… and a lodge… and some totally unmarked pieces. I want a oneta and bigger GRISWOLD Erie.
I’m addicted.
