A happy accident

Today while I was out hunting Iron I started chatting with a vendor who was dusting her displays. I told her I liked cleaning old, dirty CI. She said she had some old, dirty CI at home and invited me over. I bought 4 of them for $10 a piece.

Thanks Ted, today was a good day for hunting. I wish I would have gotten a better picture of the handle on the slant 9# griddle. The end of the handle comes to a point like the handle on Jbaurs can opener.

Jeffrey, it was nice to get the pans at such a reasonable price but I think the bigger score I made was making two new friends. Jan and her husband have 40 plus years experience in the antique business and I enjoy asking them newbie questions. They are around 70 and 80 years old and seem to enjoy chatting about the subject also. :icon_thumbsup:

That is very nice. Those connections keep you going. Just think they just might know some old CI collector that wants to unload some iron, and your name comes up. :icon_thumbsup:

They say the squeaky hinge gets the oil. She sold you some nice pans. It's amazing what you can find just by talking to people. She must have liked you to give them away at such a low price.
