A Swing and a miss

I missed this one Wednesday and it wasn't far from the house. I had a time and place to pick it up. Unfortunately the seller had taken it to his booth and went to go pick it up for me and it was sold.

I only have the one picture and zero information other than size of 7 1/2 x 5 I would of loved to had this one and it was priced in my ballpark. Any guess as to who made it.

I'd say CHF most likely. Too bad you missed it, but doesn't sound like a lid was part of the deal.

I presume that's for deep frying?

It being a CHF crossed my mind but im still new to CI, I do like the hammered look and I kinda liked the look of it. What it was used for I don't know, I hope someone could shed some light on that out of curiosity.

Wagner makes one roughly the same size with a wire basket for deep frying like Benjamin hinted at. It didn't come with a lid either. I would venture a guess that this was for the same purpose. I've seen other makers mold Hammered CI but CHF is best known for this style. Without seeing the bottom, this is the best I can come up with.

I see now and that makes sense, kinda like a early pre fry-daddy
