Adhesive labeled cast iron

Hi folks,

Quick question. Would a cast iron piece that came with an adhesive label still have a "country of origin" mark?

Thanks,

Al

After about 1960 all USA made pieces seem to be marked as such. Presumably imported pieces were required to be labeled at this time, though I'm sure some exceptions exist. Perhaps you can be more specific about what you want to know?

Thanks for replying. No specific question, just reading some more on this forum about unmarked cast iron cookware. I read about pans that came with labels and was wondering if they would still have to have the country of origin stamped on them after 1960. Trying to get more knowledgable before I try my luck at eBay or craigslist in a diefferent state.

Thanks,

Al

Country of origin could have been only on the label. It didn't have to be cast into the item.

Thanks guys. I wonder how many "vintage" and "made in the USA" pieces are floating around out there.
