Aebleskiver pan....

Hello ,

Recently acquired 7 cup aebleskiver skillet/pan that I need assistance identifying.
Internet data/photo searches on era and foundry have been unsuccessful.
Significant clues appear in the handle, connection sleeve and dimpled (inverse) cups.
I can almost talk myself into visualizing a raised block letter "A" in the pan ,
(superior to the handle)... but, that may be creative thinking.

The pan appears to have experienced heavy usage. Original guess was Favorite Piqua,
but that is really just a hunch. I have located an original Nordic/Danish/Scandinavian
pastry recipe which I look forward to attempting . Thank you for any insights....

Outstanding ! Thank you very much.... I believe that link nails it. This is exactly why I joined this forum. My bride told me she picked it at a yard sale because it "looked unusual". She chose well.

Just as a test , (gently) placed the aebleskiver skillet on the induction glass cook-top , dropped a few gtts. of olive oil in the cups... heated without a problem. Next up ... aebleskivers for all !

Thanks again. Wagner 1314 circa 1924 it shall be....

Re: Aebleskiver pan....

MBrehon,

Just a little follow up.... after re-reading the post you linked, I carefully inspected the area where the inscribed "1314" is visualized. With the correct lighting and magnification , I can just make out the "4".

Just thought I'd share. Thanks again.

Ya, and thanks to you for giving me a reason to revisit that thread and try once again to imagine I can make out any numbers at all on mine -- no dice!

Just for the sake of completion.... aebleskivers... adjusted the on-line recipe by substituting buttermilk, wedge of fried cinnamon apple in each center, dusted with powdered sugar, and drizzled on Maple syrup. At the table used homemade blackberry jalapeno jelly as desired. My company says.."good". No left-overs. :glutton:

good use of an almost 100 year old piece of re-claimed cast iron. This won't be a shelf sitter.
