Am I understanding this marking correctly?

In reading through "Numbers and Letters" on this site, I deduct that a Wagner pan marked 1057 is a regular skillet, size #7. However, on the auction site, they state the pan is "approximately 10.5 in." in diameter, which is closer to a #8.

Am I misunderstanding the marking? Or did they miss the mark on their measurement?

Thanks!

A 10.25" bottom diameter would be more like a #10. eBay sellers have a habit of copying verbiage from previous similar auctions and editing it. They don't always proofread, though.

So the 10 in 1057 is the skillet size, as in #10, right? I misunderstood the explanation in Numbers and Letters then....

In Wagner catalog number parlance, 105 is a regular skillet and the size number is appended to it to make the unique c/n for that pan. When you get to a #10, it's 1060. The numbering convention and the the math novelty is explained on the numbers page.
