Anchor Symbol?

Hello everyone, I just got this piece all cleaned up looking nice. I searched everywhere and couldn't find what the significance of the Anchor Symbol is. Can anyone explain this one. Thanks in advance.

It's a maker's mark (as opposed to a molder's mark). Maker, as in the maker of the pattern. There are a couple dozen different ones on 2nd and 3rd series Erie skillets.
