Any idea what this is?

Hey everyone. I'm needing a little bit of help. I'm somewhat new to the whole cast iron collecting thing, so I don't know much about this pan that I picked up for $2. Would anyone happen to have any info on it? The only markings on it is the 8, the 'R' and the gate mark.

Bottom gated pieces that are otherwise unmarked are pretty much impossible to identify as to where, when, and who made them. The "R" is probably the molder's mark---the initial of the guy that actually made it.
 
That's worth $3 easy :mrgreen:
I can smell the buttermilk pancakes in that, nice find and definitely something I would be happy to bring home.
