Arc Lodge lid with raised 8

Boom! I saw sign on the side of the two-lane saying "antiques and wood stoves". So,I followed the signs for a few miles down the back roads. Awesome place! Tons of cast iron stoves, new and old. They also had several skillets. This lid was sitting on a Wagner Ware chicken fryer. They agreed to sell it separately for $17.50. A little more than I would like to pay for a lid, but I think it will fit on my raised 8 skillet perfectly. Sweet.

While one would hope to pay less for any old Lodge lid that will fit, for a marked one I could see paying that.

I didn't look at too many of the prices, but I saw an Atlanta Stove Works Franklin stove for $175. The new ones ranged from around $200 to $2000. I saw a really cool looking one that was a combination of enameled iron and what looked like granite (or maybe it was marble?) tile.

Edit: I just searched their name and found their website: http://mystoveshop.com/1-home.html

Spurgeon, thanks for that hot link to the stove dealer. What pretty things they show! The only good part of Winter for me is having the stove to cook on as well as keep the house warm. Ours came from Quebec, and is good quality, but it sure isn't as pretty as those stoves are.
