Atlanta Stove Works

I was in the mountains of Virginia last spring riding through a fairly small town and saw this stove on a front porch along with a yard sale sign and a bunch of junk. $35.00 and I loaded it up! :)

Russell I would of picked that up too, for me it would be a cheap insurance policy for heat and a way to cook indoors in case of the zombie apocalypse :chuckle:

We had a bad storm here about 7-8 years ago and I was with out power for 10 days. Things like that get you rethinking and planning ahead just in case of ?
Just don't forget to have wood on hand, you only have so many coffee and end tables handy at home.

That's a major score! I would love to have a small cast iron stove, but every one I see around here is $150 - $400.

I think the one you have is a "laundry stove". Maybe it was intended to heat large pots of water? How big are the eyes?

It is a beauty, some times the people don't know the value or they just don't care,3 years ago I bought a franklin stove for $30 it was on that guy family for a while he said he remembers his grandfather used to cook,I felt bad thinking I stole his family history, but he didn't care,he said just give the money and I don't care what you do with it,I was lucky I was on call that day and I use my work truck with the crane,it is like 400#,I have not restored it yet.Is missing the rear leg,I keep a brick to align it,
