Basic Question

If no question is to basic, Then I have what should be a simple one.
Where did the Name/Term Hollow Ware come from/originate?

http://www.castironcollector.com/glossary.php is a start but not the origins. I would say that Hollow defines the shape and Ware defines utensils - as in Flatware defines eating utensils (which are of course, flat). I googled it and never came up with an origin but lots of definitions. Hope this helps in some small way

Thanks, That does help. I guess I was wondering if one foundry started the term and the rest picked up on it and started using it for their own products, as to be compared to the original. I might be thinking too deep on this one.
