BSR Century 7 Twins

I picked up the dark pan at an estate sale with matching lid, I didn't notice the flaw in the rim until I got home, but I got it cheap so I figured oh well I'll use it as a camping skillet, well my mom needed a camping skillet so I gave her the pan and lid. Surfing eBay I came across this other century 7 with exactly the same mark in the same location! I had to have it for $10, just to compare them. They marks aren't completely identical, but I don't think it's a coincidence they are that close to the same, in the same location on the pan, problem with the pattern? That would be the only thing that would keep transferring the same flaw to the molds right? Only thing that keeps me from thinking these came from the same pattern is one has made in USA, one does not. Thoughts?

One says 10-1/4" the other 10-1/8". Maybe a coincidence? Or maybe part of the automation machine process caused it at the same spot on many skillets until it was fixed? Just thinking out loud😬

wow I feel stupid, i completely never noticed the difference in the sizing, i guess i just seen a fractional size and thought bsr century and left it at that. So i guess they probably didnt come from the same pattern then.

Reinforced lip thicker on one as well. Probably just a point where the gate broke off badly after casting.

so i wonder how these two pans, obviously made in same foundry, during close to the same time period, but different patterns, and coming from different parts of the country, have almost identical marks? I would have to think it would be something to do with when/how they were made. You wouldnt think two people in different parts of the country could almost replicate the same damage in the same spot on the same type of pan
