BSR Dutch Oven, Date?

Jeff.... One easy way I've learned to ID BSR or Lodge lids just by looking at the tops are.
Lodge tends to have an angled bend in the dome, from handle to rim...Check your Lodge pic. And BSR will be a more continuous curve from handle towards rim. In both Red Mountain and Century . Heres BSR lid pics, Back right is Century, other two RM.

This can help ID one without even getting crud or rust on your hands, but that's not much fun..!:chuckle:

And also if Doug reads this, back left lid is a 6.....so should I be looking for a skillet or small Dutch to go under it.....??

Another way is to just look at the bottom. Spikes on Lodge, dimples on BSR. Red Mountain period catalogs say lids 6 thru 12 will fit skillets or DOs. Good luck finding a #6 DO, though.

Thank you. I have numerous BSR and Lodge lids but I never did anything other that turn them over to see if there were dimples or points. Angels vs rounded.........thank you
