BSR Markings

I saw a BSR skillet with a size number only at 6:00. Would that pan be older than one that had a letter behind the number? Or is that just a variation?
 
Most likely just a variation unless the number was hand scribed. I've seen pics of some with dot(s) after the number and no letters, but they weren't hand scribed.
