What about sanding down a little burr on the top outer edge of a skillet? Mine came with a tiny imperfection (must have been from leaving the mold) that makes wiping and cleaning the pan a little treacherous. Would sanding that burr down do any damage to the pan?
Things like flashing inside handle holes can be nipped or filed off carefully without impacting collectible value, as long as you don't mar or damage good iron. For a user pan, it's up to the individual.
