I have an old cast iron butchering kettle. I want to make a lid. Looking for advice as for what material to use. I don't want to harm or discolor kettle or contaminate any food being cooked in the kettle. Any suggestions?
Aluminum will probably be your least expensive option unless you just want to use some plywood. Stainless steel may be the best choice, but it's expensive. How big is the kettle? Why do you want to cover it?
