Can anyone identify this cast iron ash tray. I can find no markings anyplace on it. It has three legs and the bowl is pitted badly. Maybe the handle will help identify it.

I am told that this is not an ashtray but a ladle. Can anyone identify it for me. It is 6.5" long from handle tip to front of bowl, has 3 legs, bowl measures 3.5" across, the handle is 3.5" long. I searched the web but can not find anything.
This type of ladle is for metal smelting and pouring liquid metal, like lead into bullet or sinker molds. I don't believe you'll ever ID a maker for it. Sorry
Lead ladle. Most often used for pouring lead joints with cast iron drainage fittings. It sat on a burner which was used with several ladles.

That was a smaller one which was more useful with 1.5 to 2 inch fittings. Often called service weight cast iron fittings. Later they used rubber gaskets but lead and oakum was longer lasting.
