Cast Iron Chicken fryer

I just bought this skillet and am trying to figure out the mfg. Anyone have an idea ..... I was wondering if it could be an unmarked Griswold?

The handle looks like BSR to me.

The flat area at the base of the handle is inconsistent with BSR. The number and the placement of it aren't Griswold, either. Even unmarked Griswold pieces have pattern numbers.

Didn't Wagner use that handle style with the flat at one time?

I thought it might be a Wagner but could not find anything in the book or unmarked Cast Iron link here......

Do you think it is a Wagner Doug? I have never seen a BSR chicken fryer so it was just a shot in the dark.

Doh...it's an unmarked Lodge isn't it? I have a three notch in front of me with the same handle and that number on the bottom sure looks like a lodge number.

Lodge size numbers are never at 6 o'clock. We're going to need to see it clean and from more than this one angle.

OK. I just cleaned the pan and am wondering if anyone can give me an idea as to the mfg with these pictures.

I think I might know this one...looks BSR to me.

That flat area notwithstanding, BSR chicken fryers are all smooth bottomed. It may just be a BSR Red Mountain with a pattern variation.

It sure looks like a nice pan. I like the machine marks. You did a good job cleaning it up. :icon_thumbsup:

Thanks Doug and you too Bonnie.... found it for a friend. I sent her pictures and I think she likes it...... Only problem is the small wobble but the cooking surface is in very good shape so it should work good for cooking .... I seasoned it 4 times so she should have no problem cooking with it.
