Cast iron identification book?

Is there a good book for cast iron identification? Or possibly a website you use? I'm trying to figure out how to start identifying my unmarked pans, and to know what to look for. Thank You!

Click the "shopping link" at the top of the page and it will take you to the books. If you purchase the books thru the link on the CIC website a small portion of the price goes to help support this site. I haven't seen them cheaper anywhere else.

Hey, that's good to know! I still need to order personal copies of the RB and GB. (DonnaT: The books are commonly referred to by the initials of their cover colors, eg: RG=Red Book, etc)

Dan, I am pretty sure if you use the link thru CIC to purchase anything off amazon CIC gets a little bit of profit. I'm going to try to remember to use the link when I do my Christmas shopping. DougD has helped me so much, I feel it is the least I can do to give back a little.

He doesn't like to toot his own horn so I am doing it for him. Honk, honk!

You can start here:

There are also the blue & red books you can order from Amazon. I do not remember the titles or Author. Hopefully someone else will reply so I can order them too.

"The Book of Griswold and Wagner: Favorite, Wapak, Sydney Hollow Ware" (Blue Book)
and
"The Book of Wagner and Griswold: Martin, Lodge, Vollrath, Excelsior" (Red Book)

both by David G. Smith and Chuck Wafford

There is also a book specifically about Griswold Muffin Pans named amazingly enough "Griswold Muffin Pans" by Jon B. Haussler.
