Trying to get an idea of how old this kettle is. While cleaning it up I found one pinhole in the bottom, what is the best way to repair the pinhole? I'd like to use this pot over a campfire.

Well I certainly never expected to find a 280 year old pot in a run of the mill antique store. Now I need to figure out how to fix the pin hole and get this pot back in use.

I found a product called Castalloy that says that it can make repairs to cast iron using nothing more than a propane torch. Has anyone ever heard of this? I play to heat the pot in the oven to around 400 degrees to reduce cracking and then heat the area of the pinhole with the torch to make the repair. After the repair is mak\de I would put the pot back in the oven to cool down slowly.
