Cast iron skillet from Japan

Hey Everyone,

I'm looking for some help in identifying this skillet. My mom got it for a few bucks at an estate sale a while back and then gave it to me. I've looked and looked but haven't been able to identify it. Any ideas? The bottom has a very distinctive logo, with "Japan" written under it.

Hi Keith, I have just purchased 3 pots/skillets with the same mark. I have scoured the Internet, lists of foundries, lists of marks with no success, until I found your post. Did you ever discover the maker/ retailer? I have friend in the metal certification business in Canada, and he said Japanese metalwork is among the world's best. Thanks , Tom
