Casting flaw Dutch Oven

Hello, first post.
At first I thought it might be a repaired crack from the big dent by the spout but upon further inspection looks like a sand shift or interrupted pour? It's a later #8 BSR. Your thoughts, thanks.

Could be either. Grind marks crossing the defect on the rim show it was already there, probably a bad break off of the gate runner at that point. Definitely should not have passed QC.
