Char-bachi hibachi, any ideas as to maker?

I paid $10 for this beast a few years ago, and will never use a Weber again. It's quite heavy and solid, and on the bottom in raised letters it says CHAR-BACHI. There is also a raised R in a circle. My gut says it isn't too crazy old, but for grilling perfect anything it can't be beat.
