this one looks like the one in the no name section. it has a screw stuck in the handle. I think this I what they used to put the little dot in them with. I have a 2 others that have a hole (dent) in the handle.
These hammered, with the 8 (and some cases 9) followed by the size number and pattern letter, are CHF. It's not a screw in the handle, but rather the impression of a screw put in the pattern for some quality control purpose.
I don't know how it would be used for quality control but it did have something to do with production or molding or??? The screw could be turned in the pattern which could tell which shift or molder was using that pattern. I've heard of it being used for quality control but never with any documentation or how it was used for QC.
