Cleaning Question

I have a wagner Ware, Sidney, 1057H with an outside heat ring. There is one fancy "W" for both wagner and ware. This pan is a #7 and has the shiny coating visible under all of the baked on black. Can I clean this skillet using electrolysis?

You'd do better to use lye, as it can be left unattended. Electro usually won't hurt plating that is not already compromised and loose or flakey. If plating is in good shape, electro in the 2-10 amp range normally used shouldn't hurt it. I'd still go with lye, though.
