Coffee pot holder?

Not a freebie give-away, but a feature on many larger, fancier ranges with overhead compartments. So, yes, they will be found in old 1800s stove catalogs, just not as a separate item. Usually two of these were affixed to the back wall of the range on either side of the flue. Do a Google image search on "favorite cast iron range".

Bonnie,
The piece you are asking about is listed on page 115 in one of my older books (Collectors Guide To Wagner Ware and Other Companies) Copyright 1994 third printing 1997) The book is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 and is a paper back book, reddish pink color.
The description under the picture reads: Favorite Wall Shelf, brass plated.

Thanks for the answers. It makes more sense to me if it was made to be attached to the walls of the stove. That would be a place I would be less likely to accidentally bump into, and it would keep the coffee warm. It is definitely an interesting piece of iron, and I like that sunshine logo, but not at that price.
