Dating a Favorite Piqua Ware Lid

I picked up a CHF Chicken Fryer (Diamond A) today that came with what I assume is a post acquisition Favorite Piqua Ware lid marked 8-1/2 B. Is there a way to accurately date a Favorite lid?

I'm starting a Favorite collection and was wondering if it would be the correct lid for a smiley logo lid if I were to swap it.

I was in a local antique mall today and saw 2 chicken fryers. They were more $ than I thought they are worth but interesting enough to do some digging. Chicken Fryer 1 was labeled as an unmarked Wagner but I think otherwise. The lid looks like a Puritan per the Red Book, page 137, top right. There are no markings on the lid that I could see. The pan has an "A" in a diamond at 6 o'clock. I think it is a Chicago Hardware Foundry per the unmarked section of this web site. Any guidance, including value, would be appreciated. They need some cleaning but otherwise look in good shape.

We sold one on our store about a year ago and at that time my research dated it around 1930's.
