Did I make a mistake?

Passed today on a 1270 Best Made wheat stick pan, same as BB p. 128. Should I consider going back to get it? Was in excellent condition, and he wanted $85. Uncharacteristicly eBay prices are lower than BB right now at around $85. Would you?

RB and BB prices aren't realistic today, and, IMO, eBay prices have gotten just stupid. I used to use a criteria few years ago that was, basically, if I could get it for 50% of the high side RB or BB valuation or less, I felt I was doing OK. On your piece, I would want to be at closer to $50. If in VG-EX condition.

Glad you think so Doug. It's not the piece I want anyway. I'm really looking for either a 27 or a 28 (saw a couple of those at a different shop today as well, but the old feller wanted $300 a piece for them). That's the main reason I turned it down. When I saw BB had it listed at $150, I felt a little sick, but then saw the lower prices on the Bay, and was very confused. eBay prices have gone so out of whack in the last year that I couldn't really understand what was going on. I've seen unremarkable 3rd series Erie branded Grizzlies going for $100+ on several occasions lately on eBay. Crazy.

My impression is that Etsy prices are even more delusional than eBay, or maybe that's just certain sellers, IDK. My CI spreadsheet reveals I own three 1270 gem pans: two SR&Co and one Puritan version, all from 2011-2012. Average cost (including shipping) was $55 each.
