I got a muffin pan here with an 'A' on the bottom. Any idea what this might be?

Do you know what the 'A' signifies? I've seen several of these on the net with the same marking. Also, could you tell how old it is???

In Wagner terms, this would be a version of their popover pan, slightly different than their "S" muffin pan. It would have to be after 1957, as it is actually made using a modified pattern of a Griswold #10/949, which dates from the 1950s. In the case of this unmarked one, the A would just be a pattern identifier. Most likely it was sold in a Wagner box or cardboard sleeve. These are also seen marked (badly) Wagner Ware stylized logo (no Sidney -O-) Made In USA.

Do people just grease these up and cook right in them like the corn stick pans, or do they put in the little paper liners?

RickC, if you want them looking all pretty go with the paper. They have floral or polkadot, and pretty pink. You can find them in CA. If not, cook right in them like the corn stick pans.

Hahahahaha....... I'd only probably use these for cornbread. No cupcakes for me.

But, we're tough out here in Cali. If I were to make cupcakes, I'd use something like this.
