double ghost marked Wapak

I have a Wapak #7 with a faint "Erie" ghost mark above the Wapak logo and a "Wagner" ghost mark below it. My best guess is that it was made from a mold bought and used by Wagner that had the been purchased from Griswold. Is that a correct assumption? It also has a "J" on the underside of the handle and what seems to be a hand drawn impression of the state of Ohio. What do you all think?

More likely a Wapak that was made using a Wagner skillet as a pattern that itself had been made using an Erie for its pattern. That whole notion sometimes forwarded about foundries selling old patterns to competitors makes absolutely no business sense. The state of Ohio part is interesting; perhaps someone used the double ghosted Wapak as a pattern. Need a photo.

I think you both said the same thing about the pattern progression but I agree with Doug, I think maybe the pattern was made from a "borrowed" pattern or iron. A photo is often the best way to show what you want/need. Cool to find so many foundries on one piece though.

This has been a topic this past week or so on facebook. Dougs assumption makes sense as long as we can find a wagner skillet with an erie ghost. Noone seems to be able to find that skillet so were missing the middle piece to the story

Like this one? The more I thought about the "state of Ohio", it dawned on me that it was the maker's mark from the Erie.

Thanks gentleman. I appreciate your input and opinions. I ended up with a family situation not long after posting this so I'm just now seeing your replies. Thanks again for your help!
