Dutch oven

My dad gave me this hammered silver colored Dutch oven. The bottom has an 8 and 9 and a small A on the bottom by the handle any help in ID would be greatly appreciated. Plus it seems to have a silver plated coating on it and I'm wondering if it's safe to eat from.
 
When asking for ID help, a photo or two can go along way, making a lot of guessing unnecessary.
