What ever you are using be it a bunt pan, corn stick pan, griddle, gem pan, popover, muffin pan or waffle iron; if you are putting batter in it make sure you grease or oil it first and have it hot. Three hundred to 350° F is good. Not smoking, but hot. You will be glad you did.

Altitude......For those that live in higher altitudes it will take less temperature to achieve this task...about 2 deg./ per 1000 ft. above sea level. Not sure how our ancestors knew how to do this but it seemed to turn out fine at the dinner table...

The 2° less per thousand feet is for boiling water. I'm not sure how that has anything to do with this thread?

You're right. What was I thinking anyway???? I actually meant it as a question rather than a statement. Based on most recipes (out of the box types) they state for higher altitudes to reduce heat accordingly. I shall NEVER weigh in on your threads in the future. Please accept my apologies....
