Just wanted to throw this out there. I was fooling around today and went into a little antique place and saw some Griswold stuff. Some of it was real, like a "New American" 6 inch damper ($24.50), a couple of Griswold food and meat choppers--"O" and "2" ($20)(neither in good shape). Ran across a really small corn pan and an ashtray. They were either bad reproductions or bad rehab jobs. Metal was all grainy looking and gave me the idea of sandstone. The ashtray had the Griswold cross, but no lettering. Handle looked really poorly done. Only thing I could think of was that someone had either sandblasted the snot out of them or really bad fakes.
