Favorite Scotch Bowl 3? Worth Buying?

I came across this "The Favorite" scotch bowl No.3. I don't know that much about Favorite or Scotch bowls but it looks like it would cleanup well I did not see any damage and I liked the raised lettering on bottom. I could not find any on ebay to check value...I would not want to over pay for it. What do you think would it be a good item to pick up?

$40 doesn't seem excessive. These days, anyway. Note this is Columbus Hollow Ware, not Favorite Piqua.

Glad I asked about it. After doing so Googling it looks like this bowl might of been made by prisoners.

Does it matter? License plates use to be made by them also. Does it like to be good quality is all I would care if you're not looking for a collectable.

I'm not getting the sense that the fact it was made by prison labor was being stated as a negative.

In my opinion it has more value as a collectable rather than a usable piece if it will clean up well as stated in the first post.

I like History and it makes good conversation when you are showing some family member or friend a piece of cast iron that has a story. Now that's an interesting story behind that piece!
