First Time to See a Santa Mold in the Wild

I just saw a Griswold Santa Mold for the first time. I wish it had been at the Salvation Army store and not at an antique store. With my daughter's wedding this weekend, I can't spend $149, but I sure would like to have one someday.

Does appear to be genuine, $150 is about average price now. It would be a nice deal if you could get them down a bit.

Regardless with your daughter's wedding you clearly have your priorities straight.
 
If I get through this weekend with any money left, I'm going to go back and see if it is still there. I'll ask for a 10% discount and see if they'll come down a little.
 
Today, I called the store to see if the Santa mold was still there. It was ... and the booth owner had just started a 50% off sale! So, I stopped by on the way home and bought it for $74.50. Hope it's real!

It's pretty rusty. I'll post pictures of it when I get it out of the e-tank. I wonder how long that will take? Looks like it's only surface rust.
 
Glad you got the mold, Spurgeon! It is a rare thing, and the price was not too bad. Hope it cleans up well for you. Then all you'll need is a cake recipe...:)
