First Timer Here - Really Interesting Info - Needed

All,

I was given a Wagner Ware Oval Roaster 1285. The wine bottle is shown for scale. It measures ~ 10 x 14ish (sloppy measuring)for sure. I have a few questions:

1. Can anyone identify the white splotchy, almost bloom like markings seen in the photos? What might they be caused from?

2. The roaster has a sticky gummy feel to it, especially the bottom, the trivet and inside lip/edge. The lid was kinda stuck on. I hope the heavy duty oven cleaner method takes care of the goop. What I do with the roaster after the OC does its job?
3. No idea of its age, can it be used for cooking in a gas oven?

Mold, from incompletely polymerized seasoning oil, most likely. Also why it's sticky. Was probably stored with the lid on, trapped moisture. Once fixed, you can use it in any oven or on stovetop. Age is late 1930s-1940s.
