Hi There,
I was off to the weekly flea market this morning to see if I could find anything unusual or must have. I wasn’t planning on buying much but you know how it is when you are addicted!!
I think everything is of a Griswold origin, but I could be mistaken. The top two on the left are:
1.) a #9 National
2.) a #8 National
3.) and just below that is one with so much crud on it all I can make out is “Hollow”
4.) on the top right is a #8 slant marked Griswold
5.) the two pans just below that don’t have a name, the first one reads on the top of the back 755 with the letter C just below the number and on the bottom of the pan next to the handle the number 8, there isn’t a number on the top of the handle
6.) the next one down on the bottom top has the number 754 and on the bottom just above the handle the number 7, and on the front of the handle an upside down number 7
7.) the last item is a Golfball Pan. I first got into buying cast iron as I like making corn bread and putting it in different molds and then it graduated to most things cast iron. Up to now I didn’t have a Golfball Pan so I picked it and looked it over and all it had for markings was the number 947 on the bottom left ball; I didn’t know what it meant but I wanted it and bought it anyway. I was surprised and shocked when I got home and looked in the “Griswold Muffin Pans” book and found out that I had purchased and original Griswold #9 Golfball Pan (12 Cup), part number 947, variation 4 and rated as a rarity of 5.
And the hunt continues!!
