found unusual cast iron item.

I am trying to identify a cast iron item I found. It looks like a frying pan but the bottom is not solid. It is full of 3/8 inch holes. There is one other piece with it. It is looks like a bacon press.
What is this thing? Is it complete with the two pieces or is there supposed to have a third part?

Thanks,
Tim

SWAG - a homemade cherry pitter if the holes were drilled and not cast into the piece. Place the stems through the holes and push.

That version sure is less expensive than the one I posted.

I saw an unmarked #3 Wagner once at the scrap yard that had multiple holes drilled in the bottom of it. I didn't buy it because I had no idea what it would be used for? Later on I saw a guy on instagram who laser cut patterns into the bottom of the old steel pans and called it a grill pan. He uses them for grilling sausages.
